Finally, a Kakefuton that Can Be Cleaned!

Unlike polyester/cotton-filled kakefutons, our silk-filled kakefutons are dry cleanable. The removable, all-natural, 100% cotton custom cover is also washable (see specs below to learn more).

Hand-Pulled Silk Makes the Difference

Each of these soft, thick comforters is filled with hand-pulled mulberry silk - completely natural and untreated. Light and supple, silk fibers constantly equalize temperature and retain body warmth making them a superior filling for kakefutons. The 100% polyester inner cover is quilted to guarantee that the silk filling does not shift - adding to the even-heating properties of these delightful Japanese duvets.

Unlike down and cotton, silk is naturally hypo-allergenic and inhospitable to dust mites. It is also mildew resistant; silk whisks away and dissipates moisture. For a comfortable and hygienic sleep experience.

Customize Your Removable Custom Cover

Whether you choose the traditional 3" white-bordered style, or the more contemporary borderless cover, the 100% cotton Japanese duvet cover features solid white cotton fabric on the underside. This style is covered in an artistic crashing wave pattern made of tiny navy blue dots. Mizu (水) is the Japanese word for “water”.

We at J-Life International make every effort to ship your order timely and via the most reliable shipping method. All of our textile items are hand made in the US based upon authentic Japanese traditions and best practices. (Our Tatami Mats are imported but made from Japanese materials.) We take great pride in the production of our products and never cut a corner solely to meet a deadline.  Please be patient with us, especially during especially busier production periods. 

Please review your order carefully before checkout to ensure all details, including your shipping address and selected items, are correct. We’re happy to assist with changes or cancellations, but we cannot guarantee they can be made before shipment once the order has been submitted. Customers are responsible for any costs resulting from order changes or inaccuracies, including reshipment fees, carrier correction charges, or return shipping costs.

Shikifutons and Tatami Mats

  • Ships via small parcel carrier; Fedex Ground or UPS Ground.
  • Leave our Massachusetts warehouse within 1-2 business days with most orders shipping within 24-hours. Orders received after end of day Friday through the weekend ship out the next business day.
  • Orders containing made-to-order textile items will ship together once all items are finished. A shipping confirmation and tracking information will be sent once the entire order has been shipped.
  • Orders may include more than one box and could arrive in separate deliveries. Tatami mats each ship in their own box.
  • Transit times from our warehouse within the US can be seen below.

Made-To-Order Textile Items: Shikifuton Covers, Protective Covers, Kakefuton Covers, Pillows, and Noren

  • As these are made-to-order items, they commonly require 5-7 business days to produce with most orders shipping within 5 business days.
