Keep your shikifuton protected from spills, sweat, moisture, and whatever else life brings your way with our water resistant shikifuton cover. This convenient cover functions like any traditional mattress protector, but is specially designed to fit our J-Life Shikifutons like a glove.

This durable cover is especially handy for those who plan on using their Japanese futon as more than just a mattress. Because of its zippered design, you don't have to worry about your cover sliding off or moving around and its moisture resistant properties mean your futon will always be protected- no matter where you bring it.

Note: The J-Life shikifuton was carefully designed to replicate a traditional shikifuton as closely as possible, so, true to tradition, our futons are naturally breathable and allow for plenty of airflow. This shikifuton protector is for those who are more concerned about their ability to keep their futon clean than average and should not be seen as something all shikifuton owners must use.

How to use: Simply zip your new shiki protector over your bare shikibuton mattress, zip your shikifuton cover over that, then top with your kakefuton (Japanese duvet), pillows, and whatever else makes your shikifuton comfortable for you!

*If your Shikifuton Protective Cover appears to be too big for your brand new shikifuton despite ordering the correct size, this may be due to compression caused by the packing and shipping process. Japanese futons may be several inches smaller than their actual size upon delivery until they have had time to fully expand. Please allow your shikifuton at least 1-2 weeks to expand to its actual size.
