No Japanese home is without a Tatami Room, which is used for a variety of purposes (eating, sleeping, watching TV). The Tatami remind the Japanese of "home" and wherever there is tatami, there is "home".
The Tatami Platform Bed is made from solid hardwood joined together by a system of interlocking pieces. Two tatami mats form a platform for your mattress or futon. You can also order the bed frame without the tatami mats, and just place your mattress directly onto the slatted platform bed frame.
Place any mattress of any type (latex, memory foam, futon, spring) on the tatami mats or directly on the wooden slate to create a comfortable sleeping platform. The Interlocking corner system makes it easy assembly and easy take-down in the event of a move.
The Tatami Platform Bed may also be used as a meditation platform or for serving tea.
Frame:
This bed is a completely natural product — no particle board or glues are used in construction. Choose between a warm Natural Honey Oak or a rich Walnut non-toxic, natural based stain. Easy assembly.

- Clearance from floor to the bed frame: 4 inches
- 14 slats spaced 2"-3" apart when assembled.
