This traditional Japanese noren features a bold woodblock-style graphic of two Japanese geisha women in traditional garb performing with musical instruments. A geisha (芸者) - also known as a geigi (芸妓) or geiko (芸子) depending on the region - is a type of female traditional Japanese performer. Originating sometime in the Edo period (1603 - 1868 AD), these recognizable performers are classically trained in arts such as music, dance, hosting, singing and other similar talents. There are still a number of Geisha who perform in Japan's urban centers to this day.
