Awaji Island incense is born from traditional incense manufacturing methods, strict quality management, and the skill and pride of thekoh-shi, or incense master. Its history extends back to 1850. Today, more than 70% of Japan's incense is produced on Awaji Island.
Each of the Awaji Island Light Smoke Incenses is created by a differentkoh-shi. The fragrances are very mild with almost no smoke. This incense is a good choice for those who wish to make incense offerings while limiting the amount of smoke. Low Smoke Awaji Island Incense, Fragrant Wood (114) has a mysterious scent combining sandalwood and aloeswood.
Approximately 100 sticks of 4 7/8" incense per box.
I absolutely love love love this incense. Takes me away to the temples in the high mountains. Barely any smoke and it's scent is so mild and lovely. Should have bought more!
